You can now listen to all episodes of the Sweet and Sour Variety Hour easier than before!
I’ve given up on spending loads of time editing down my Wednesday morning radio show. Since eliminating the tediousness, I’ll be able to keep up on the uploading of the show every week. The difference will be that it will be heard in its one-hour entirety.
To find the podcast, you simply go to chly.ca and click on the red “Podcasts” button. That will take you here to the list of all podcasts in which you have to scroll down to The Sweet and Sour Variety Hour.
There are 3 options:
…This opens a player in your web browser and will stream all the episodes in order.
…This opens the RSS page, which has those raw .mp3 files you can right click and save as to download each hour if you want to. This means you could load them on an mp3 player, or edit them in Audacity.
…Opens in iTunes and subscribes you to the show. New episodes will appear in your iTunes automatically every week

The Sweet and Sour Variety Hour is a show made up segments produced by community members. If you would like to contribute to campus and community radio in your area, send an email to ashta@ashta.ca to begin a conversation about the kind of segment you’d like to produce. Film Buff Radio is a weekly show segment presented Wednesday mornings on CHLY’s Sweet and Sour Variety Hour. Film Buff Radio is the show that talks about films and plays songs from their soundtracks. Hear music from a different film each week, as well as comments about the feature provided by Nanaimo’s own Film Buff- Clinton Thornley. Your Sense Too is a live call-in show segment on Wednesday mornings presented during CHLY’s Sweet and Sour Variety Hour. Your Sense Too opens up the phone lines and invites you to call in and give your two cents. Listeners can use the toll free number to call in and share their observations, thoughts and messages with Canada’s West Coast. Do you know something others ought to know about as well?
