The trick to making perfect oatmeal cookies….

is to chill the dough. Frozen is better. Here’s a recipe:

Needed:
a big bowl.
a spoon.
parchment paper.

Mix in yer bowl…
half a cup of soft butter
half a teaspoon of vanille
half a cup of sweetness (like sugar, honey, molassses, maple, what have you)
an egg
Mix it up good.

Then mix in half a teaspoon of baking soda.
some salt
fold in there almost a cup of flour (or whatever. bran, flax, quinoa, itsall good)
CINNAMON yeah
Mix that up real nice.

Now fold in like, a whole cup and a half of quick oats. You know the kind. Bulk section. (Instant packets will do in a pinch.)
A handful of nuts or something
and a handful of raisins or something.
Your mucsles are surely tired now. Keep folding that shit til you’re sweaty in the pits. Jam it up against the side of that bowl until there is a nice “everything per square inch” scenario in there.

Spoon it out on to a cookie sheet covered in parchment paper. Spoon it out twice as big as you initially intended. Stick it in the freezer for at least 10 minutes. You can wrap em up and throw em in the freezer until the apocalypse, I don’t care. Now you have OATMEAL FRIGGIN COOKIES whenever you want! When the mood is right, and you’re down for some warm chewy goodness, pop em on a sheet and bake em in a pre-heated oven for 12 minutes. Default 350 degrees.  Let sit and set for 10 minutes, they’ll firm up real nice. Now your house smells great!
